19th Century Forcer

These have a bell-shaped form and waisted neck. Originally used for rhubarb, they would encourage a plant to grow. There would have been a lid and once this was removed, the plants would grow towards the light. The purpose of this, in the Victorian age, was to get an early crop. Can be used for rhubarb cultivation or as an ornament. A pretty and interesting piece of history.
